Privacy Policy

Kea Modelling is a sole trader operating a 3D printing and CAD design service based in New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have under the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We only collect personal information you give us directly, through:

• The consultation booking form — your name, email address, a description of your project, and an optional STL/STEP file.
• The order/checkout form — your name, email address, project notes, and the file you upload for quoting and printing. If you choose courier delivery, we also collect a delivery name, address, and phone number.
• Payment — checkout is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we only receive your email address, the amount paid, and Stripe's own reference IDs for the transaction.

There is no account or login system on this site, so we don't hold usernames, passwords, or profile data.

Why we collect it

We collect this information to quote, produce, and deliver what you've ordered or booked, to communicate with you about your order or consultation, and to take payment. We don't use it for anything beyond running this business, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

We use a number of service providers to run the business. Some of these are based overseas, which means your information may be processed outside New Zealand:

• Stripe — payment processing (US-based).
• Google Calendar — if you book a consultation, your name, email, and project description are added as an event on our booking calendar so the appointment can be confirmed and managed (Google, US-based).
• Notion — we use Notion internally to track jobs and consultations, which includes your name, email, shipping address (where provided), and project details (Notion Labs, US-based).
• Resend — sends order and consultation confirmation emails on our behalf. We don't run a marketing mailing list, so these emails are transactional only.
• Cloudflare R2 — stores the 3D model files you upload.
• Sentry — error monitoring, so we can fix bugs. Sentry is configured to scrub customer names, emails, and addresses before an error report is sent.
• PostHog and Google Analytics — website analytics, only after you accept the cookie banner (see below).

We only share what each service needs to do its job, and we don't disclose your information to anyone else except where required by law.

Cookies and analytics

On your first visit, a banner asks whether you're happy for us to use analytics cookies. If you accept, we use PostHog (which can include session replay — a recording of how you interact with the page, without your uploaded files or form contents) and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. If you decline, neither tool loads and no analytics data is collected. Your choice is remembered in your browser and you can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

How long we keep it

We currently keep order and consultation records indefinitely, for accounting and customer-service purposes — we don't yet run an automated process to delete old records. If you'd like your information deleted, contact us and we'll action the request manually.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure, including relying on the security measures of the reputable service providers listed above. No online system is completely secure, but we don't store payment card details ourselves at all.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it's wrong. To make a request, email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the business or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
