Large format 3D printing in New Zealand
Our large format 3D printing runs on a Bambu Lab A2L, which prints single PLA and PETG parts up to 330 × 320 × 325 mm. That's big enough for helmets, enclosures, trays and display models in one piece, and anything larger can be split into sections and joined.

How big can a large format 3D print be?
Up to 330 × 320 × 325 mm in a single piece. That's far bigger than the 180–256 mm beds on most home printers.
- Full-size helmets and masks in one or two pieces
- Enclosures and housings for larger electronics
- Trays, organisers and storage bins
- Architectural, terrain and display models
- Jigs and fixtures that span a workpiece
- Prototype casings at full scale
What if my model is bigger than the print bed?
We split it into sections that each fit the bed, with alignment keys so the pieces line up, and you glue or bolt them together.
Good split lines follow natural seams or edges, so joins are easy to hide. If your model needs splitting, send it through the CAD modelling and product design service and we'll add the cuts and keys, or ask for a design for 3D printing review if you'd like to do it yourself.
Which material is best for large prints?
PLA for most large parts, because it warps the least and holds its shape across a big print. PETG for large parts that must be tough or live outdoors.
- Compare PLA, PETG and TPU materials →Which filament suits your part.
- 3D printed cosplay and props →Helmets, armour plates, gauntlets, prop weapons, badges, jewellery and small costume details, plus flexible straps and trims in TPU.
- 3D printed enclosures →Any housing for a circuit board, sensor, display or battery.
What else do people ask about large 3D prints?
Mostly about size limits, weight and print time.
What's the biggest single part you can print?
330 × 320 × 325 mm (W × D × H) in PLA or PETG. Flexible TPU is limited to 180 × 180 × 180 mm because it prints on a separate direct-feed printer.
Can I order large parts through the instant quote?
Yes, for parts up to 500g. Heavier parts, or models that need splitting, are quoted by email so we can plan the split and print time.
How long do large prints take?
A part that fills the bed can take a day or more on the printer, but most orders are still dispatched within 3–4 days. We'll tell you if a large job needs longer.
Is this industrial large-format printing?
No. The A2L is a large desktop FDM printer. It covers most parts up to about 33 cm, but not the metre-scale prints industrial machines make. Bigger objects are printed in sections and joined.
