3D printed enclosures in New Zealand

Enclosures: printed to fit.

3D printed enclosures give your electronics a case that fits exactly, with the holes, mounts and cut-outs exactly where your board needs them. We print custom enclosures for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, sensor and control projects across New Zealand.

Prices from $5 with an instant online 3D printing quote, couriered NZ-wide.

What enclosures can be 3D printed?

Any housing for a circuit board, sensor, display or battery: from a small Raspberry Pi case to an outdoor sensor box mounted on a fence post.

  • Raspberry Pi and Arduino cases
  • Sensor and data-logger housings
  • Display and control panel enclosures
  • Battery boxes and power supply covers
  • Outdoor junction and camera housings
  • Wall- and DIN-rail-mounted cases

Which material is best for 3D printed enclosures?

PETG is the best all-round material for enclosures: tough, heat-tolerant to about 80 °C, and stable outdoors. PLA is fine for indoor desk projects. Add a TPU gasket for splash resistance.

Compare PLA, PETG and TPU properties side by side, including heat, UV and flexibility.

How do I get enclosures made if I don't have a 3D file?

Send your board model or dimensions, connector positions and how it mounts, and we'll design the enclosure in CAD with screw bosses, vents and cut-outs. The counter enclosure pictured went from a hand sketch to a finished part this way.

What makes 3D printed enclosures print well?

Design the enclosure around the board and the way it's assembled, not the other way round.

  • Leave 0.3–0.5 mm clearance around boards and connectors.
  • Use heat-set inserts or screw bosses rather than printed threads.
  • Add vents if anything gets warm.
  • Split the case so it prints flat without supports.

How much do 3D printed enclosures cost in NZ?

Small enclosures usually cost $10–$40 to print in PLA or PETG. Upload your STL for an exact price, or request a design quote if you need the enclosure modelled.

What else do people ask about enclosures?

Here are the questions we hear most about 3D printed enclosures. Anything else, just ask.

Can a 3D printed enclosure be waterproof?

It can be made splash-resistant with a TPU gasket and an overlapping lid, but FDM prints aren't guaranteed fully waterproof. For outdoor use, PETG and a sheltered mounting position work best.

Can you design an enclosure for my circuit board?

Yes. Send the board's dimensions or a STEP model of it through the CAD modelling page and we'll design a case around it.

Will the enclosure handle heat from electronics?

PETG handles about 80 °C, which suits most low-power electronics. For hotter components, add ventilation or tell us the temperatures so we can plan for them.
